Beautiful Friend

"This is such a well done movie which is really going to throw some people because of the subject matter which is heavy and bleak to say the least. It’s kind of a problematic movie because the main character Daniel on paper should be this unlikeable monster which he is but this movie doesn’t shy away from how Daniel came to be and representing him as human despite him behaving inhuman. This movie has a mature lens with which it views everything which is refreshing but like I said problematic. Most women will despise this movie and it’s not hard to see why because this is probably what women are afraid of the most. What’s scary is that this movie is so realistic in every aspect of its runtime. Daniel is a real concept and there’s plenty of people out there that are him right now especially with how disconnected socially as a society we are. What I love about Beautiful Friend is that it’s completely unafraid in all aspects. The writing, the directing, the acting and even the way it’s shot which is beautiful. It’s a complete juxtaposition and it just somehow works. I don’t know what else there is to say as this is a movie that has to be experienced and that experience will be a bit confusing as the plot is so hard to watch but at the same time Beautiful Friend is incredibly well done. "
