"Absolutely phenomenal performances by Patti Duke and Anne Bancroft. I first saw this movie a good 30 or more years ago and still clearly remember the water scene where Helen Keller finally gets it. That scene might just be the most powerful of any I have ever seen. "

"Patty Duke (Helen Keller) and Anne Bancroft (Anne Sullivan) played the same roles on broadway in 1959.⠀ ⠀ I like both this original 1962 version and in 1979 Patty Duke plays Ms. Sullivan and Melissa Gilbert is Helen. ⠀ ⠀ I always thought it would be cool if they remade it again with Melissa as Ms. Sullivan and whomever as Helen. ⠀ ⠀ Next remake was 21 yrs later w/ Alison Elliott (Annie Sullivan) and Hallie Kate Eisenberg (Helen Keller). I’ve only seen this one once, don’t remember my opinion."
