"This is an absolutely amazing and powerful film. The storyline is gripping and truthful. People now live in a society where they can sell years of life instead of money to pay a debt, get the luxury life they have always wanted, or pay for higher education. The person ages almost immediately, and tries to live out the rest of their life at such a high price. This movie asks: what happens if your perfect life is threatened in some way? The acting was great, with an amazing cast. I was riveted by such an intelligent and dramatic plot, watching every scene. German audio."
"Watched it & liked it 👍🏾 Thanks, @Errika_Mason, you’re right, the acting here was exceptional & honestly believable.
The dark-toned cinematography & foreboding, suspenseful background music (or “sounds”) were reminiscent of that other #German #SciFi_Mystery series, DARK, so this movie had a bit of that same FEEL. Those dark tones definitely made it feel #dystopian. The addition of the ethereal music in this movie was a really nice touch. The “Resistance” reminded me of other #SciFi_thrillers like THE LAST OF US or HELLBOUND. Finally, that first gunshot practically made me jump outta my seat!! 😆💥🙀"
"A dark thriller about a dystopian future much like In Time where youth is bought and paid for those with enough money for those who are in need of it, as a husband who works in Aeon while his wife is a doctor there futures are forever changed when an fire destroys their lives! Worth watching as the darkness of the world comes into view for the husband as he seeks to bring back his family as it once was!"
"This was such an interesting movie. The technology made zero sense but it was still thought-provoking in regards to, not only the lengths people will go through to stay young, but also the lies we tell ourselves to justify those lengths. A lot happens in this German sci-fi/dystopia movie and worth a watch, although it can be fairly slow until the end. Throughout it, I was constantly clueless as to what was going to happen next. Even though I said it's a bit slow-paced, it's so interesting that so much much happens. It's a bit of an oxymoron. I can't say I saw the ending coming because it was one possibility in so many options for a plausible conclusion. I know that's what most movies strive to do, take you on a journey where anything can happen by its ending. But I am fairly good at figuring out the ending, usually because they are typically cliché. Not this one. I could literally have seen 15+ ways for this one to end and the one that they went with was a good one and not one that was on my 15+ list!
3.75/5*s or 7.5/10*s"
"I haven’t watched a movie that had me so hard in such a long time. Honestly they could’ve gotten away with a poorly made movie and it would still be good with the storyline alone. But The writing, the characters, the SOUNDTRACK…everything about this movie is amazing. The concept had me and my husband questioning life and talk about this movie well after we watched it. Really had so many twists and turns I didn’t see coming that were unique in every way. Give this movie a shot, it’s SO worth it. "
