"Oh god, what were they thinking? Sadie can sing, cept for that one Elvis auto tune song. The script and story were dragged out, confusing, and just dumb. My boyfriend and I just skipped to the ending after like 40 minutes into it maybe. Anyway, don't waste your time watching this. Two words "face job," if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about, if not just Google it instead of watching it."
"Sadie Sink is fine as the lead in this movie, although the romantic scenes do not work (fully clothed, closed lip love scenes for starters) which is one of many things that "sink" this movie.
O'Dessa doesn't know what it wants to be. Everything in the movie is incredibly derivative and unoriginal.
A contemporary Americana soundtrack was a great idea for the story, The general plot is good, concept is good and in the hands of a better director and a director who didn't think he needed to write all the songs for the movie, we might have really had something.
The music in the movie is not horrible but there's no hit song there that's for sure and if you're going to base the look of Sadie Sink on Brandi carlile, why not have Brandi carlile song doctor your music, or get any one of the myriad number of amazing Americana artists out there who could have really made the music in this movie pop.
