"A return to form of the original VHS and VHS 2. Some really dark, original, and well done segments with a wrap around story that’s actually intriguing as well. The segments “No Wake” and “Ambrosia” are the absolute best of the lost with both being directed by Wrong Turn’s Mike P. Nelson. I’m intrigued what he does in the future as these segments showcase a unique new talent in the genre and I hope to see more from him in the future. Scott Derrickson’s “Dream Kill” starts off excellent with some truly creepy crime scene found footage pieces that are up there with what he did on Sinister (meaning excellent) but it goes off the rails as the more fantastical the segment gets. The only segment that didn’t quite land was TKNOGD by Zoe Cooper which was an interesting premise but came off a bit campier than expected. As stated before the wrap around segment “Total Copy” directed by top talent David Bruckner lands which is a bit of a first for this series and is a massive upgrade from the last two in the series. All in all it’s close to quality to VHS 2 which is saying something. If you’ve even remotely enjoyed any others in the series or you enjoy found footage movies you’ll likely find this one to be good. Highly recommended. Well done Shudder! "
"Too many jumpy shots and grainy film. "
