I also learned more about efforts made by the family to make changes in the military law which added to the heavy emotion surrounding this story. This is a documentary worth watching"

Philip Zimbardo has a Ted Talk discussing this issue called “The Psychology of Evil” on YT, which I highly recommend watching. Philip Zimbardo is the researcher behind the Stanford Prison Experiment and has dedicated much of his life to understanding group conformity and power dynamics. Zimbardo discusses the horrific things that occurred at Abu Ghraib by the US Army which were systemic and not “just a few bad apples” as have been depicted in the past. There have been numerous articles and news reports regarding alleged corruption, problematic investigations, and lack of objective oversight in the military."
