"i love this film, and book. if one isn’t from the pacific nw one may not know about japanese internment during ww2. when japanese americans on bainbridge island - many of whom were farmers, were interned, it laid open a path for competing euro american farmers to steal land and crops. racism, resentment and fear during the war coupled with a challenging economy fueled a very sad time in pnw history. the film tells the story of a wronged man struggling to do the right thing when it counts most.
