I started thinking about comics and other such "hero" stories today. I personally think that after the 2nd or 3rd movie, the Asgardians should have just executed Loki. It also really bugs me when the "hero" wont kill the villain at the end of a movie because of some lame reasoning like, "Then I'd be no different.". ESPECIALLY after they spent the entire movie cutting down henchmen like wheat. What do you think of all this?

Brandon Reed After The Avengers, for sure. Batman Begins makes a nice compromise on this by having Batman willingly allow the villain to die. I think it stems from a place of not wanting to glorify violent vigilantism. But in a case like The Joker's in comic books, at some point it becomes clear that the justice system has failed to systematize justice.

David Rachau It's been a pretty common trait of many action movies since they became a thing. I guess it gives them a reason to shoot "humorous" commercials about the aftermath for insurance and detergent companies. 🤷‍♀️. The heroes moralizing at the end is just a product of the creators not wanting the audience walking away feeling like they just watched a mass murderer save the day.
