Topic: The Peripheral
Has anyone else seen that The Peripheral, which was previously picked up for another season, has now been cancelled? It is due to the writers strike. The explanation was that they wouldn’t be able to get it out to the public until 2025 and they thought people would have lost interest at that point. I’m so disappointed. I feel like we loose a lot of interesting or promising sci fi shows too early in their infancy. They are given less of a chance by the general public.

Russ Hoyt It is on my TBW list. That is disappointing. I wholeheartedly agree that too many shows get cancelled too soon. Often, they are just hitting their stride, especially taking into consideration that the volumes are significantly shorter in the number of episodes.

Catherine Sagherian I feel like this especially happens to sci fi and fantasy shows. Two other great examples are The OA and Counterpart. They both had cult followings but not enough to keep the shows going. I feel like people are less willing to watch these genres in general. The people that like those genres end up paying the price.
