Payton Running away from home at 17 wasn't easy. Let's face it though, nothing before, or in the ten years since, has ever been easy for me.And I'm doing okay. Sorta. I just need to keep scraping by, living under the radar. Staying out of people's way, off people's minds. So when a man walks through my open patio door, stepping boldly into my home, and my life, I should be scared. Frightened. Terrified. But I must be more broken than I realized, because I'm none of those things.I'm intrigued. And I'm wondering if the way to take control of my life is by giving in to him.NeroThe first time I took a man's life, I knew there'd be no going back. No normal existence in the cards for me.So instead of walking away, I climbed a mountain of bodies, and created my own destiny. By forming The Alliance. And I was fine with that. Content enough to carry on.Until I stepped through those open doors, and into her life.I should've walked away. Should've gone right back out the door I came through. But I didn't.And now her life is in danger. But that's the thing about being a bad man. I'll happily paint the streets red to protect what's mine. And Payton is mine. Whether she knows it or not.

"This was great. A nice little sexy dirty dangerous serendipitous detour in the book slump train I was on. Between reading fanfic that is literally tearing my soul and finishing other 5 stars, THIS was the magic I needed to give me a break. Payton is ALL the things I love in an FMC, broken beyond repair but surviving in spite of all that’s happened. Nero is a selfish but passionate mobster who’s in control of all things except himself when it comes to second story balcony b&e’s and all things Payton related. So of course, he sees her once and it’s ON! I ate this up! Happy reading!! "
"I found this book through Tiktok and I absolutely loved it! It had everything I love in a romance novel! {21+} "

"<strong>steamy stalker insta romance </strong><br/><br/>Slightly different than I thought it was going to be. There wasn’t as much dark, stalker vibes but it was still a good tale. Nero is a mafia boss that doesn’t fall in love that is until one very cute curvy barista lets her balcony door open one night saving him in more ways than one. Intrigued to see if King or Robert get their own stories."
"3.5 stars<br/><br/> Let me start the review by saying this is just my opinion. I don't usually read mafia books and am very picky. It has nothing to do with triggers. Once in a while, a book will catch my attention. This author has been under my radar for a time. <br/><br/>I love the beginning of the book. It's unique, and Nero becomes instantly obsessed with Payton and starts to stalk to her until one night, Payton makes a decision, and Nero shows himself to Payton.<br/><br/>On the spice alone, it’s five stars. You lost me on the Virgin trope. However, While I think it's overdone, it's a key to the storyline. After that, it's full steam ahead. <br/><br/>Here, I get picky: Mafia is dark and should be detailed. This book is an intro to the dark mafia world. I felt his organization should have been in a little more detail. There is some detail. Nero's war is Payton about his world, and I didn't feel the warning and how serious it was. <br/><br/>I liked the general storyline and was ecstatic when a particular side character met its demise. <br/><br/>Regarding mafia books, I recommend not taking my word for it. Nero could be your five-star read."

"“I’m just trying to figure out what to do with my life.” I grimace as soon as I say it, hearing how lame it sounds.<br/>Robert raises one bushy brow. “A good looking, crazy rich, overly protective man isn’t enough?”<br/>I give him the side eye. “You can’t have him.”<br/>Robert laughs. “Terrifying isn’t on my list of fantasy husband attributes.”<br/>“Nero isn’t terrifying.”<br/>“Uh-huh, whatever you say.”<br/><br/>Nero is a walking possessive red flag, and he will do anything to protect his girl."
