All 20 year old Daisy Haites has ever wanted is a normal life, but it's just not on the cards for her. Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered in front of them 12 years ago, Daisy hasn't ever lived beyond the watchful gaze of her gang lord brother. But Julian's line of work means that Daisy's life is...complicated. And things don't become any less complex when she falls hard for Christian Hemmes, the beautiful and emotionally unavailable boy she's been involved with for the last few months, who also happens to be one of the few men in London who doesn't answer to Julian. Christian's life is no walk in the park either, being in love with his best friend's girlfriend and all? He's happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affections, that is until she starts to infiltrate those too.As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian each have to come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes life's most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood.

"5/5 ⭐️ wow! that was toxic and I loved every second of it!! I am officially a fan of the Magnolia Parks Universe. The first book made me feel gross but this one really did it for me. I appreciated that the main characters were self aware even when they were making terrible decisions. Jessa Hastings can shatter my heart into a million pieces over and over again and I’ll thank her for it! Her writing is beautiful and I loved every second of it. The books are closed door so they are a 0/5 spice level for me but there is a lot of sex and talk of sex just not on page. "
"⭐️⭐️⭐️... I liked this book but not as much as Magnolia Parks. There were a few things I just did not like. For example, the footnotes like why? For what? It was very unnecessary. This book was miscommunication at its finest🤦🏽♀️. There were 3 POVs in this book, Daisy, Christian, and Julian, who is Daisy's brother, and I'm not sure what was the point of Julian's side of it all unnecessary really. Can't say much about the things I didn't like without spoiling the book. Overall it was okay. I like the writing, and I loved Christian. I will continue the series but will take a break. I really had high hopes for this after that first book 🤷🏽♀️ oh well. "
"4.5/5!!!! 🌟
I was both excited + scared to read this book because while Magnolia and BJ’s story was interesting to me, I was not in LOVE with them. I also did not care for Christian AT ALL in book one, so I was nervous initially to read a book dedicated to his story with Daisy.
Oh my, I ate this thing up. The plot was a million times better than Magnolia Parks 😭 and maybe it was because a plot actually existed and it wasn’t solely based on the “development” of the characters (there actually was zero character development in Parks).
Daisy was FUNNY. Def my favorite POV to read out of all three mcs. She didn’t lack personality unlike another female mc of the Magnolia Parks universe… *cough* parks *cough*
I need more of Julian, Daisy, and Christian’s story. That ended on a mega-cliffhanger that makes a part of me want to skip Long Way Home and go straight to the Great Undoing, but I won’t."
"Miss Jessa Hastings... Ma'am... WHAT are you putting in your books??? I swear just when I think NOTHING can get better than Magnolia Parks, you prove me wrong???? 10/5 stars, phenomenal. I ADORE all of these characters. I also loved that this book was like, at the same time as the first one, but other people's points of views. So when there was the whole Magnolia/Christian drama, I could see what was going on in Christian's head this time, instead of Magnolia's. And I'm the type of person that if you have some sort of drama going on, or some major tea, I wanna know ALL the details. I just love dysfunctional relationships, I guess. I cannot wait to dive right into the next book!!!"
