For the readers who finished Insatiable wanting more—the sexy and hip sequel from the #1 New York Times–bestselling author of Enchanted to Meet You.Nobody does vampires like Meg Cabot, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The Princess Diaries and Queen of Babble novels. Overbite is Meg’s sequel to her bestselling Insatiable, the story of a soap opera writer with precognitive powers who is recruited into the Vatican’s war against demons and the undead. Unfortunately, Meena Harper has a major Achilles Heel—namely her lingering affection for her ex-boyfriend, Lucien Antonescu, son of Dracula, the prince of darkness. Anyone who loves Twilight, True Blood, and Lynsay Sands, not to mention the singleton fiction of Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, and Jane Green, is going to want to sink their teeth into Overbite.Praise for Insatiable“Cabot winningly applies her trademark likably fallible protagonists and breezy storytelling to a vampire war in New York City.” —Publishers Weekly“Cabot, adored for her Princess Diaries series and Heather Wells mysteries, holds her own in the crowded paranormal arena, proving that she is truly a versatile, entertaining writer.” —Booklist“No one quite brings the sexy-times like Meg Cabot. Especially when she takes on the world of vampires in Insatiable.” —Good Books & Good Wine

"From a sequel standpoint and comparing this to the original, I think "Overbite" did a great job in taking us back into the world of vampires, the Palatine, and its characters. You're immediately invested in these characters again (especially Meena and Alaric for me!), especially after the first couple chapters!

I will say, this book was almost going to be 3/5 for me for the longest time. Mainly because of how the plot was taken about halfway through and especially because of how Lucien's character and personality was handled. Fortunately, nothing came from it from a romantic sense from Meena, but I still hated how his basically abusive behavior was almost romanticized albeit just to himself mostly.

The reason why I upped this to a 4/5 was because dispute some of the minor issues I had with it, I loved how it ended. Every question was answered, every character had a set ending and I feel like for a duology, it ended things perfectly!

Side-note: my mind was also blown with the fact that the Minetta Stream in the book was an inspiration from the actual stream in real life that was supposed to run through a fountain in the NY University Meg Cabot worked in. Which if you're a Meg Cabot fan, you know her work in that NY dorm inspired the Size 12 series.
I was like, "Are those series connected now?!""
"For years, fans would ask Meg to write a vampire series, and for years, she said she never would. Nothing against vampire novels, it just wasn't her cup of tea and there were already many vampire novels in the world. Enter this two-part series about a soap opera writer who is being forced to write about vampires by the company she works for. Sound familiar? Regardless, it's a terribly fun take on vampire lore. And I love the female lead!"
