"Kamala Khan is the teenage daughter in a family of Pakistani immigrants. She struggles with balancing the expectations of her family, the pressure to conform with her peers and school work. That balance gets worse when she finds herself with mysterious powers. This book struck accord with many teenage readers much like spider-man did all those years before and it’s not hard to see why. It handles talking about modern teenage issues, timeless issues, along with the joys and struggles of being a superhero with grace. Yet it nerves loses its sense of relatable humor and quirky fun. But most of it has great sense of heart that primarily stems from the characters."
