From bestselling author Natalie Standiford, an amazing, touching story of two friends navigating the dark waters of their senior year.New to town, Beatrice is expecting her new best friend to be one of the girls she meets on the first day. But instead, the alphabet conspires to seat her next to Jonah, aka Ghost Boy, a quiet loner who hasn't made a new friend since third grade. Something about him, though, gets to Bea, and soon they form an unexpected friendship. It's not romance, exactly - but it's definitely love. Still, Bea can't quite dispel Jonah's gloom and doom - and as she finds out his family history, she understands why. Can Bea help Jonah? Or is he destined to vanish?

"This is my FAVORITE book. Favorite, above all others. If I could only save one book from a house fire, it would be this one.
I picked this book up at a thrift store for 25 cents, just a day before heading to summer camp at about 14 years old. I picked it up thinking it looked cute and would entertain me enough for the week I was away. When I say this book entertained me for that week and the decade that followed, I am not exaggerating.
I have read this book at least 30 times in the last ten years I have owned a copy, and it makes me day every damn time. Is it depressing, yes? Is it still the greatest book to ever make me feel seen by a character, and to make me feel along with them? Also yes. I hope with every fiber of my being that this will be the last book I reread before my death, I want the story to live with me always."
