The Diary of a Young Girl is a record of a sensitive girl's tragic experience during one of the worst periods in human history. In 1942, with the Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, the Franks and another family lived cloistered in the 'Secret Annexe' of an old office building. Anne Frank recorded daily events, her personal experiences and her feelings in her diary for the next two years. This diary is so powerful that it leaves a deep impact on the mind of its readers.

"Although obviously a haunting read of a young girl during the Holocaust, I was somehow surprised at the anger and disappointment she put on her family for what was happening to them. So it's not that I didn't like it, I just felt sad for her family and that some of those feelings went unresolved. Although putting myself in her shoes, it rings true to the identity of a girl of her age experiencing what she did. I'll never be able to understand, but I acknowledge how lucky we are to have this first hand account to help us always remember what happened when humanity was at its worst. "
