"I’ve got a confession to make: this book is really clever, and Lisa Unger is a masterful writer who weaves together stories, emphasizes words, with the elegance of a seasoned, graceful dancer. I could feel in the prose how specifically precise the language and emotional feeling that permeated was. I’ll admit I stopped and started a couple of times at first, hence the four stars, because of the many perspectives that initially overwhelmed me and also due to the gripes about men that cropped up from women who were sometimes equally responsible in arriving at their own catastrophe. However, as the story progressed and I more fully let myself go in its tempting, welcoming magic, I came to find how crucial each perspective was to the tale.
Confessions on the 7:45 gets off to a rattling start when two women meet, seemingly by happenstance, on the 7:45 train, which then breaks down, heaving to a stop in blinding, preemptive darkness. The air lies electric between them, charged with urgings for cathartically revealing the ruin that has become their lives. Both women have pretended the falseness of a beauty that no longer belongs to them or rings true to what they are experiencing in their personal lives for too long. They are exhausted, spent, and endlessly worn down from all the lies and half-truths that they have to keep up with. And each house a mysterious, captivating beauty colored with uncertainty for what is to come of their relationship in the future and in this moment of intimacy that unmistakably passes between them.
This story operates on the spellbinding stealthiness and complication of layers, appearances, and false and more true identities. Just when you think you have a handle on someone, they nimbly escape your grasp. There is also a magnetic quality to each of the scenes in the novel that dares you not to look away. I could feel it boldly, unapologetically, and as fully as if witnessing controversial art that asks more questions than gives answers. "

"This is a very long book with many characters , who's lives all intertwine in some way. I loved this book. Very mysterious and suspenseful. It was one of those books where you try to read faster to see what happens next. Recommend anyone who wants a slower read that has a lot of details that come together in the end. "
"Pretty awesome read, I didn't think I was going to like it based off some of the reviews. It was a really good read! It did have a little to many POVs tho!! So one star taken away for that. And I can't stand when people disown children they clearly made with other people.

I actually thought that dude was killed when she whacked him with that toy! Should have hitten him harder would have saved an innocent person!"
