Every inquisitive little girl wonders what it is really like to be a genuine princess. At the heart of Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots? lives an energetic, spirited, and contemporary child who has lots of important questions for her mom. Do princesses ride tricycles, climb trees, do chores, or have to eat the crusts of their bread? The mother's voice is timelessly reassuring as she answers her daughter's questions and advises her that being like a princess has to do with what we are on the inside. This heart-warming book offers a gentle lesson about self-acceptance, and will inspire children to follow their dreams and leave their own mark on the world.

"This inquisitive little rhyming book was one of my most favorite books ever as a child. This precious little really just wants to know if all the things that she does, are all the things that princesses do. Do they like to ride tricycles? Or Climb Trees? Do they have to do chores? This is a great book to any girl who isn’t sure if she counts as a princess or not (hint: totally a princess!). What I love, is that its not romanticizing the fact that any girl can be a princess no matter what she does. I think girls everywhere will gravitate towards this colorful and charming book. I think in terms of the classroom, I would have it in my library as an option but I don’t feel that its gender neutral enough for a lesson or read aloud, and my boys in the class may feel that this book is just for girls. Take it from the person who swore by this book as a kid, this needs to be in your library right away."
