"
“The struggle is really hard sometimes. And then I meet you. And I feel stuff that I’ve never felt before. Things that I never thought I would be lucky enough to experience. And I feel so out of control in the way I am with you. Like I’m stripped bare and for once someone sees everything inside of me… the good and the really really ugly.” ~ Clay

Wow!!! Ok!!! Where to start....

So I started reading this book about a month ago and I got halfway through and I just had to put it down for a little while.

It was a hard read for me because the struggles that Maggie and Clay went through felt so real! It was like a wreck that happens in slow motion...you could feel it coming on and it just broke my heart to kind of know that everything was going to get worse before it got better.

I must give props to the author A. Meredith Walters because she wrote these 2 characters so perfectly that I was sucked into the story and FELT every emotion she conveyed.

So on to the story....

Maggie is leading a normal life. Although she has great friends that support her and parents that love her she doesn't feel fulfilled in her life.

Clay shows up at her school and they literally run into each other. There's an instant fiery spark between the 2 that you could just feel. However Clay is not wanting to address his mental health issues.

As they start a relationship Maggie realizes that everything is not hearts and rainbows for herself and Clay.

The way the author shows us one side of mental illness is heartbreaking. When Clay was up he was an AMAZING boyfriend! But when he was down it was earthshattering and soul consuming.

Again this was a hard read for me just because I felt every single high and low with Clay and Maggie. I cryed over and over and then I got to the end and just sobbed!

If you haven't read this one yet I highly recommend reading it!!

Some of my favorite quotes!!

“I love you so much. Sometimes it hurts."
"I don't want it to hurt, Clay. Our love should make you feel wonderful.”

"You ran into my life, this beautiful, amazing girl who changed everything. I finally saw what my world could be. What being normal and happy could look like. You’ve given me everything I never thought I could have!"

"I was this sad and lonely creature before you came along. And then, just being with you, knowing you love me, had transformed me. My entire life has become this metamorphosis into something beautiful, something happy. I told you before that you've freed me. You've reminded me of what it means to believe and hope.”"
