In this riveting and timely memoir, the groundbreaking journalist unpacks lessons on race, identity, and success through her own journey, from navigating her way as the unstoppable child of an unlikely interracial marriage in small-town California to finding herself on the frontlines of a modern movement for the next generation of change makers. Welteroth moves beyond the headlines and highlight reels to share the profound lessons and struggles of being a barrier-breaker across so many intersections. As a young boss and often the only Black woman in the room, she’s had enough of the world telling her—and all women—they’re not enough. As she learns to rely on herself by looking both inward and upward, we’re ultimately reminded that we’re more than enough.

"<strong>Shallow and clunky </strong><br/><br/>This is barely a story. They just have sex for the first half of this book. They don't have an actual conversation until about the 60% mark. There is an attempt at a love triangle but the other guy is quickly dismissed. Lexis has several dates with the guy but we only read about the 1st one. Ezra is a reformed bad boy, but is he? He's constantly angry and wallowing in self pity. He whines about nobody hiring his landscaping business because of his reputation but I wouldn't hire him either since he immediately begins sexually harassing Lexie when she attempts to hire him. He drinks on the job. Loses his temper constantly and trashes the yards he's working on and curses loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. He also has a habit of treating his half sister like crap. Will never understand why authors expect me to root for a guy like that. There was no connection ever established between these 2 and the ending came suddenly with no resolution for any of the issues with the side characters. Just a poor attempt all around."
