"Possibly a 4.5/5? This is so different from most of the books that I've read, but I loved it. It was beautiful, heart aching, humorous in a way, yet dark. Not only does Nothomb describe strained relationships with family (focusing on mothers and daughters specifically) as a result of neglect and its results wonderfully, the writing style was great and overall a really enjoyably quick read. However, the ending was alright and somewhat sudden in my opinion, but I can't really complain due to how short it was."
"Great story. "
