Compelling, chilling and an incredibly impressive’ Alexandra Brown ‘It’s certainly one of the best debuts I have read in a while, it’s compelling and shocking, and very cleverly crafted’ The Book Review Café ‘Hall packs a punch with this one and the ending left me gasping’ For the Love of Books ‘It is disturbing and chilling. It feels very real. And a quick mention for that twist! I did not see that coming AT ALL. I usually spot these things and I didn’t! Clever! Very clever!’ Northern Crime Reviews ‘A gripping psychological thriller with a level of tension that will leave you breathless’ Tracy Book Lover ‘Between You And Me is that kind of book. The one that makesyou feel like you’re there, you’re experiencing the emotions, the hurt, the pain’ Bibliophile Book Club ‘Lisa Hall has wrote a harrowing, disturbing and chilling novel which I couldn't help but devour in a matter of days. She's one of those authors you don't see coming and BANG best seller, up there with the greatest crime writers like Stuart McBride and Lee Child. She's one to watch’ Brunette Lifestyle ‘It is well written, emotional and jaw dropping. More please!!’ Jo Robertson (NetGalley) ‘A compelling but shocking read and there are serious issues in it which should provoke a lot of discussion for book groups’ Laurel (Goodreads)

"Bit of a twisted ending!"

"I'm sure to most people this was a really good book, I see what the author tried to do here and i definitely support it, was a good way to bring up a subject that I'm sure happens everyday and no one wants to talk about.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this book.... I tried so hard to get through it all. However I'm not sure if the execution was just horrible or I've just read too many books in my day. First of all the way this book is written where one is talking to the other or about the other is just annoying, It is the hardest style for me to read, I got through room 5xs faster than this book and that was suppose to be written in a 5 year olds language.. books should not be something you have to work to get through I'm sorry. I honestly just kept telling myself "maybe it'll get better, it'll get easier to read once I'm used to it" It just never did. Second of all I realized by the 3rd chapter what the "twist" was going to be because 1 the names are not gender specific, esp in the world today when everyone is already switching boys and girls names and 2 there are no him, her, he, shes in the book at all, So clearly the roles of what you assume, or what is "normal" are going to be reversed, so if you like a good non predictable twist read something else. But atleast at the end you realize why none of the people around Sal are catching on to what is going on, Its not like it's hard to figure out, the whole time he is sitting in front of his mom with broken fingers she doesn't even notice!? come on that's not realistic and why wouldn't Charlie be freaking out way more about Sal hanging out with a girl all the time!?! As controlling as she is your telling me Jealousy wouldn't be the first thing to come up after that beach scene? There definitely would have been a lot more said there but i guess they figured that would give away that is was a guy because laura can not be passed off as a boys name. I don't know i just don't get why this book has so many good reviews and everyone recommended it to me.

I'm sorry to the author, like i said i get what the message was and it was a good idea, I just don't think it was my cup of tea. With that said I will def give this author another try, hopefully all her books are not written in this form and i refuse to give it a bad rating just because it was a good try at a serious problem in the world! Everyone always thinks when it comes to abuse it has to be guy on girl and it doesn't not in the least little bit, ANYONE can be abused or bullied and i hope this book goes a long way to opening up some eyes on that. A guy being abused by a woman is just as important and the situation is probably actually worse for them because 1 what guy wants to admit he's being abused by a girl and 2 who the hell is going to believe him !? Most people would just laugh at them and brush it off as a joke, until it's too late."

"Very interesting narrative from both sides of the characters. Great twist and brings to light a topic that isn’t often talked about. "
