"Wow, wow, wow. I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did. Houston’s Ban Taub hospital is both a shining light of hope toward which we can try to strive for in American healthcare, while also shining a harsh light on how disparate experiences are and how for profit and “non profit” healthcare makes things much more difficult for even these mission driven, patient focused safety net hospitals. The author doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but presents the truth, warts and all, from both sides of the coin as well as including his own battles with healthcare. Infuriating, heart wrenching, informative, and inspiring. "
