Are you afraid of the dark, Christina? I don't need the lights on to read you like a book. The first time I meet the wolf’s cold eyes, we’re at a college party.Maybe you like the dark more than you think.I just quit the cheer squad. I’m about to dump my musician boyfriend. I’m partying harder than ever. I let money run through my fingers because I’m done reaching for standards I’ll never meet.Soon, I’m broke. And I don’t want anyone to know. The more you hide your true self, the more you’re going to let it out with me.I'm bubbly and outgoing. He's icy and alone. I stay away. I touch myself, thinking of him. When I finally seek out Patrick Caruthers, he has a proposition.Mind games. Humiliation. Control. Schedules. Him. Me.I think you’re going to be the perfect playmate.I'm not perfect. I'm not stunning or noble. I’m not a heroine. You’re priceless.I'm just a girl . . .You were made for me.And he’s a cold bastard

"2.5 stars <br/>Honestly I don’t know who’s worse off… me for reading this or Miranda Solver for writing. “Humiliation” and “pain” kinks are not for me (and I’m not saying I have a kink). Though to be fair I suppose it could be considered light in this book, but either way I wasn’t a fan. The only reason why I haven’t completely written it off is because things really picked up in the end when Patrick got softer and more drama was happening. Anyway, here’s another shameful read to add to my list. On to the next I guess"

Don’t wanna love
"Priceless" by Miranda Silver is a dark romance novel that intertwines themes of financial desperation, power dynamics, and erotic exploration. The story follows Christina, a college student struggling to make ends meet, and Patrick, who proposes a transactional relationship that involves Christina adhering to his rules and desires in exchange for financial support.<br/><br/>The novel’s strength lies in its character-driven narrative and the authentic portrayal of a BDSM relationship. While it excels in creating intense and steamy scenes, a bit more depth in the secondary plot lines and character backgrounds could have enhanced the overall experience. <br/><br/>"Priceless" is a standout in the dark romance genre. It’s not just about the steamy scenes—though there are plenty—but also about the emotional and psychological journeys of its characters. If you're comfortable with explicit content and complex, sometimes uncomfortable themes, "Priceless" offers a deeply satisfying and thought-provoking read. Christina and Patrick’s story is one of pain, passion, and ultimately, healing—a journey well worth taking.<br/><br/>……it’s also just incredibly hot"
