Alice Oseman
A short novella based on the beloved characters from Alice Oseman’s acclaimed debut novel Solitaire and graphic novel series Heartstopper – now a major Netflix series. From the author of the 2021 YA Book Prize winning Loveless. The festive season isn't always happy for Tori Spring and her brother Charlie. And this year's going to be harder than most. I used to think that difficult was better than boring, but I know better now... I’m not going to think about the past few months, about Charlie and me, and all of the sad. I’m going to block it all out Just for today. "Happy Christmas, " I say.

I'd recommend reading this after you've read up to chapter 7 of heartstopper. But overall I say it's really good!

I like how you get to learn in full detail Charlie's mentality/anorexia after his hospital visit and seeing it from the other siblings' perspectives. This can be hard to potray in the graphic novels because it's obviously mostly the art. I think Alice really helped us get more of the feel for the depth of her characters."
"A cute short holiday story for Nick and Charlie’s family. This went more in depth into Charlie’s issues with mental illness and the events of Volume 4 of Heartstopper. Plus, Nick and Charlie were still an adorable couple , and we got a look at a more detailed perspective, as well as Tori and Oliver’s perspective. And Alice’s art was as charming as ever. Feel like it would work better as a full comic than a novella, but this is a sweet and heartwarming addition to the Heartstopper universe."
"A heartwarming story I relate to dearly. It was sweet and angst full. You would love it for a little holiday drama . "

"out of Nick and Charlie, and this winter, I definitely would say that this winter is by far my favorite. This winter had so many relatable moments, including Charlie’s eating disorder then having a small little argument and Charlie facing his family facing his fears about eating in front of people as a person with an eating disorder, I understand how hard it is to eat in front of people, including his family so when Alice put that into statement and wrote about it, it really made my heart feel worn and I’m not the only one out there"
