"A great start to the series, sets out an unusual world very well, explains a number of the world's pieces and a sets up the heroine for the rest of the series. Engaging characters, interesting love interests, realistic approach to a bodyguard-law enforcement relationship, just an all-around good beginning for an interesting new series.<br/><br/>The series has magic, magic users, vamps back as baddies (yay!), shifters with a twist (anybody know what a VARO is?), a new take on Atlantis, and SIRENS! One of my favorite mythological creatures. <br/><br/>I read these partly out of order (started with the Isis Collar), and still devoured all four books over the weekend. Awesome series! Want book five!"
