"The movie barley covers the first part of the book. It’s strange to read because it’s been translated poorly."

"I wanted to love this book. The movie was my favorite movie as a kid, and I still love watching it now as an adult in my late 20s. But I could not get into it. I never even finished it. Maybe it's because I don't particularly enjoy the translatio, or maybe I'm too stuck on the movie. Just wasn't for me."
"This is another of those movies that I have watched a million times and didn't know was a book. The book is way different then the movie so it still had new places and creatures in Fantastica to meet. Although this book is written for children it provides plenty of adventure and world building to keep an adult audience entertained. I always felt that the movie held the lesson of holding on to your childlike imagination to stop the "nothing" that is impending adulthood. The book has kind of the opposite lesson. Grow up, but grow up properly; love hard, care for others and don't let the magic of your imagination/childhood leave you. so maybe still kind of the same theme. Overall, I loved this book and I enjoyed getting a chance to hang with Atreyu and Falkor again on a grander scale... Still sad about Artax though..."
