"I cannot say enough about how much this book just DOES for me. Like always Mercedes knocks it out of the park with fantastic world building, engaging characters, and a whirlwind adventure. Like forget romance this book just checks off so many boxes for me. Fantasy check. Dragons check. Chick's being badass check. Cool magic check. Intimidating baddie check. Book nerdishness absolute check. Subverting fantasy genre expectations check. PUNS! You don't have to read anything else in this series (though you should cuz it's good) THIS book is just great all by itself. If you like fantasy and fairytales and a Lil romance read this book. "
