Michael Poore
A wildly imaginative novel about a man who is reincarnated over ten thousand lifetimes to be with his one true love: Death herself.“This book made me laugh out loud. And then a page later, it made me sob. Reminiscent of Tom Robbins and Christopher Moore, Poore finds humor in the dark absurdities of life.”—Chicago Review of BooksFirst we live. Then we die. And then . . . we get another try? Ten thousand tries, to be exact. Ten thousand lives to “get it right.” Answer all the Big Questions. Achieve Wisdom. And Become One with Everything.Milo has had 9,995 chances so far and has just five more lives to earn a place in the cosmic soul. If he doesn’t make the cut, oblivion awaits. But all Milo really wants is to fall forever into the arms of Death. Or Suzie, as he calls her.More than just Milo’s lover throughout his countless layovers in the Afterlife, Suzie is literally his reason for living—as he dives into one new existence after another, praying for the day he’ll never have to leave her side again. But Reincarnation Blues is more than a great love story: Every journey from cradle to grave offers Milo more pieces of the great cosmic puzzle—if only he can piece them together in time to finally understand what it means to be part of something bigger than infinity. Darkly enchanting and wisely hilarious, Michael Poore’s Reincarnation Blues is the story of everything that makes life profound, beautiful, absurd, and heartbreaking.Because it’s more than Milo and Suzie’s story. It’s your story, too.

"(4.5 Stars) I love the feeling of being connected to an author right off the bat. When I picked this novel up, I was enraptured with Poore's writing style, humorous and intelligent with little anecdotes about life spiced in between the plotline. Characters that you felt gifted to be reading with deeper philosophical questions that for a thinker like me left my brain going into overdrive. I ate this book up. I've said it before and I'll say it again: books that make you feel a wide array of emotions are the best, and this book made me feel happy, quizzical, outraged, sad, and many more. This book deserves more recognition than it has currently.
Some questions it left me with that I'll leave with you:
1: How simple does life have to be happy and how do you balance selflessness and good deeds while trying to live your own life?
2: Can you boil perfection down or is it always abstract and personal?
3: What role does love play in personal satisfaction in life?"
"This book is fun, and thoughtful, captivating, and just generally wonderful. Thank you, Michael Poore! "

"Good, could have been great.
Enjoyed the premise, the twists, meaning, so much of it. Glad I read it and know it will stick with me for a long time.
Felt very let down at the ending. It could be on me, I might have missed something.
It really was a powerfully story that fizzled, IMO."

"Making this review because I was shocked to see so few reviews on here.
Reincarnation Blues is a wonderful story that stretches lifetimes. It's humor manages itself well, and disappears when needed. From psychic whales to killing Buddha, Juggling elephants and being fired from a catapult, Michael Poore has made an astonishing tale of love everlasting.
A highly recommended read, although with some of the VERY mature actions that happen in the story (I.E Rape among others) it's definitely something left for 18+ readers.
Once more, highly recommended"
"((Warning: there is a scene in the book that contains sexual violence. Although there are no heavy details, it still exists)) I’ll try to make this quick. This book is extravagant. I love the experience of living so many lives in places and times with this character and seein where they get him in the afterlife. He makes you laugh and makes you cry between a few pages, and you will feel joy and anger and sorrow for this character several times. Sometimes, the book is literally soul food and wise."
