The second book in Lauren Oliver’s New York Times bestselling trilogy about forbidden love, revolution, and the power to choose. In this electrifying follow-up to Delirium, Lena is on a dangerous course that takes her through the unregulated Wilds and into the heart of a growing resistance movement. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

"Not as good as the first book but still good. It was fun watching the characters interact and build relationships. "

"★★★★½ -- Pandemonium is a fantastic sequel, well worth the wait. It is a well-crafted page-turner chock full of action, survival, rebellion, emotion and romance. The new characters introduced in this novel are interesting and have just the right amount of depth. Lena's development is fierce and believable. She forges ahead, strong and determined to figure out who the real Lena is after everything that has shaped her. Just when she thinks she's about certain, life throws another giant wrench in her way. The cliffhanger at the end of this novel is to die for.

One storytelling technique I really like when it is well done is that of alternating between the past and the present. I think it can be a very efficient, exciting way to tell a backstory. Oliver uses the technique seamlessly in this novel. Pandemonium begins directly where the events of Delirium left off. These chapters form the "then" chapters. The other half of the story begins with Lena on a mission, forming the "now" chapters. The events that take place during these chapters still occur in chronological order. The threads of this story are braided, each alternating to come forth and tell a part of Lena's story. The transitions are well-timed and make a lot of sense.

I'd recommend Pandemonium to anyone that read Delirium. This sequel is well worth your while."

"

Four Hot Diggity Damn Stars

.. This is your warning. Pandemonium is very taboo. It's a story between blood siblings. It’s a work of fiction. After this, if you still want to read it, start by reading all the trigger warnings. It’s dark. Ya’ll. I never read them, And I have zero triggers. So please take my warning seriously. This book is not for everyone, and that is okay.

Atlas is a psychopath that is batshit crazy. He has a borderline obsession with a touch of love for his sister, Sage. The two have an intense connection.

Sage and Atlas have a yearly tradition with their childhood friends to the haunted house pandemonium. That is in an abandoned asylum.

First, I was giddy as a schoolgirl for a haunted house in an abandoned asylum. Darkness lurks in the empty hallways. It’s dark, devious, and damn right delicious. It’s spicy AF and questioned my morals.

I have been looking for the following taboo authors, and I have found them. I was worried the writing would be mediocre; rest assured, it was far from it and had an original plot. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Merged review:

Four Hot Diggity Damn Stars

.. This is your warning. Pandemonium is very taboo. "I really enjoyed the second book in this triology and I hoped and wished it wasn't going to fall into the same trilogy/YA trap but it did. My one huge complaint - WHY WHY WHY does every triolgy have to have a love triangle nowadays?!?! This book would have been fine without it. But, that isn't going to stop me from reading the final book because I need to know how it ends."
"I loved the new scene of the book, though I was really beside myself with Julian coming into the picture. "
