I've seen every square inch of Violet Eaton's delectable body and she has no idea who I am. Until now. What happened between us online, in our chats, was meant to stay anonymous and in the past. Until it didn't. It's a small world, but Ruby Creek is even smaller. When I move to the tiny town, the grumpy facade I've created slips when we're forced to live under the same roof. Every flush of her cheeks, every time her eyes flare with heat, every time she begs me not to stop, the ice I've encased myself in melts. She has me wanting things I can't want. Things I've been dreaming about since I first laid eyes on her two years ago-things I don't deserve. But my invisible wounds have the power to ruin us both. As a former soldier, I should have the discipline to walk away, but the more I open up to Violet, the more I want to keep her. I came back from the war a different man, but my scars are older and deeper than anyone knows-and I planned to keep it that way. I planned to keep my secrets hidden. Until her.

"<strong>3.5/5 slow burn with little swoon </strong><br/><br/>A broody, cold, questionably misunderstood Cole. Violet who is sunshine from her hair to her personality. Seemingly shouldn’t have any sort of relationship but they both carry a secret that they don’t want to get out. Miss Pretty in Purple wanted to do something daring, Cole wanted to satisfy a craving without connection but they both got more than they asked for. The author describes their relationship that they have all this connection but I just didn’t feel it for the majority of the book until Cole actually showed some vulnerability. Overall an ok read."
"Violet passed, was supposed to stay just that, but after winning the derby, the man that has been in the back of her mind walks back into her life after a year. Soon after an injury puts her in his house and they become friends, but Cole can’t stop thinking about her and is drawn to her but can he get past his own insecurities to be happy? "

"Most definitely one of Elsie's best written books. (After Heartless, that is coming out in <b>FOUR DAYS!)</b> <p> I don't think I will ever shut up about Heartless. I'll just stop thinking about it for one quick second - as hard as it may be - to give photo finish it's turn to shine. <p> Cole is grumpy to the maximum, he likes his space clean, he hates people, he doesn't open up easy (it's like looking at a mirror) he doesn't share a lot about himself and being vulnerable is nearly impossible to him as an ex-army soldier who has been dealing with his PTSD for so long. <p>Enters Violet. <p> EVERYTHING about a small town romance, in a beautiful farm, filled with horses and a supportive and loving family is HEALING AND THERAPEUTICAL ok. <p><img src="https://media4.giphy.com/media/DwDBOl8W7f3UI/giphy.gif?cid=790b76116f2280423576c6a475684dc2da4aeeae6b18469e&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g"/><p> <p>Being a part of Cole's healing journey was so cozy, emotional and SO ROMANTIC. <p> We are collectively desperately consuming romance books to escape the burdens of real life, but I just realized how little and how unfrequently I use the word <i>romantic</i> to describe some of the books I read, and this is it. <P> If you are looking for an extremely romantic, swoony book, with convincing characters, incredibly fluid dialogues, and a world that feels so real that you completely forget you're reading- this is the book for you. <p> <b>Reader discretion advised</b>: you will want to abandon city life, get your hands dirty on a farm while brushing horses and you will want to have sex in a barn and listen to Shania Twain after the whole ordeal. I don't make the rules, it's Elsie's world. I am just living in it. <p> <img src="https://media4.giphy.com/media/W1OEVNWHa1ex20jNef/giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e473jc3wp98pyjqsupjcb91rk0plw7eyigde91jvhoh&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g"/>"
"<strong>a prefect finish </strong><br/><br/>Well, I cant say anything bad about this book. I love how Elsie Silver is telling these characters story’s in so many different ways. I love how each characters have different stories but all end up together, supporting each other. I love they being good friends or even Family. I am so thankful Cole found his way in life. I am so glad Cole is able to get the help she needs. I am also glad to see Vi be able to get out from underneath her family and become independent women. <br/><br/>I love this book and I can wait to continue the series and found what happens with the other characters"
