"This YA novel might be just a little too juvenile for me, but I did enjoy it nonetheless. The whole thing felt like a modern fairytale, and I think that explains some of the leaps of logic and thoughts of characters. Some characters in the book felt like caricatures, and that made it a little hard to empathize with them. Perhaps if I was more familiar with culture and folklore, I wouldn't feel this way? Overall, I really did enjoy this. The descriptions were absolutely beautiful! I never got enough of reading about the starry and shifting fabrics, but that being said, I cared more about the clothes than the characters... Now, if Shveta Thakrar would like to write about the secondary character romance we only got to hear about in this book, I would absolutely pick up that novella!"
"A magical cover that matches the brilliance of its magical story, Star Daughter inspires, uplifts, and sparkles as it reminds us all of the star inside us while tending to the imperfections of our mortal selves. A lovely fantasy story that will be reread and cherished in my home. I am grateful to have had my eye caught by this cover, and for my heart to have fallen for Sheetal and Minal’s wondrous journey. "
