The grandchildren of two rival Brazilian bakeries fall in love despite their families' feud in this delicious debut rom-com perfect for fans of Nicola Yoon and Gloria Chao. Trust neither thin-bottomed frying pans nor Molinas. Lari Ramires has always known this to be true. In Olinda, Brazil, her family's bakery, Salt, has been at war with the Molinas' bakery across the street, Sugar, for generations. But Lari's world turns upside down when her beloved grandmother passes away. On top of that, a big supermarket chain has moved to town, forcing many of the small businesses to close. Determined to protect her home, Lari does the unthinkable--she works together with Pedro Molina to save both of their bakeries. Lari realizes she might not know Pedro as well as she thought--and she maybe even likes what she learns--but the question remains: Can a Ramires and a Molina truly trust one another?

"Ok, I'm literally screaming from how good this book is! It's a fantastic clean YA read. I loved it to the point where I started looking for Brazilian restaurants in my city (never tried Brazilian cuisine before). It has two amazing main characters, fantastic atmosphere - I swear I almost felt like I was walking the streets of their town myself - and so many great recipes they made my mouth water. The book does have a bit too much pain/drama for my liking, but one might expect it from a Romeo&Juliet type of story. Overall, great read. I wish I could find more YA books like this one!"
"The book that got me into romance this book will always hold a special place in my heart with enemies to lovers and Romeo and Juliet romance and food one of my favorites I will say that there was a lot going on so much so that I forgot some of it by the time I got to the end but over all a good book "

"Summary: Two rival bakeries' grandchildren find themselves in a family forbidden love. Their families feud constantly due to the family businesses. They soon find themselves in a all out war of bakeries. And to add to this frustration a new big supermarket has entered town and in turn out alot of small businesses in jeopardy. Lari and Pedro, the lovers, work together against their families wishes to try to save their bakeries.

Review: This cozy little book was an adorable and heartwarming read although in alot of places it was lacking. The characters were bland but quirky in their own way. The story was not as original as I would of liked. But it was still an enjoyable read and something that I would read again as a low stakes palette cleanser between books. Overall my rating for this book is 3.5/5.

Extended Breakdown:
Story: 3/5
Characters: 3.5/5
Coziness: 4/5

Blog: http://wvbookwitch.blogspot.com/
TikTok: @wvbookwitch"
"Thank you Netgalley, the publisher, and author for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Oh my goodness I loved this book. I absolutely love hallmark romance movies and this felt like that to me. One of my most favorite tropes is rival businesses. I've watched many movies and read many books with that trope and this one does it perfectly. Another thing in this book that really stood out to me is how close the families and communities are. Right from the beginning at the grandmother's funeral the neighbors packed the restaurant and showed love and support. If you love a good enemies to lovers relationship then I highly recommend this book. This is also perfect for anyone who loves to cook and bake. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it."
