A Psalm for the Wild-Built was a spring stroll in the forest with sunlight dancing thru the leaves. A vacation away from the prejudices of daily life. A delightful hot cup of tea. I never wanted it to end. Rarely have I been able to enjoy short books. For obvious reasons. It's difficult to find depth and connectivity with the characters. Every word in this story had purpose. Every character a genuine feel of recognition. And how with all that can the world building also be fantastical?

Chamber has done it again. She is one of those writers that publishes and I immediately go for the pre-order because I know I will not regret it. I'll read this new story and I learn more about embracing the changes of the people around me. Chambers has revolutionized the sci-fi world as we know it.

This story was highy introspective and beautifully vivid. I've noticed many stories take an adequate 100 pages to meld you in with the world. Chambers cut that in half and then some. This is truly the first time I've read a story featuring a non-binary protagonist. It was challenging at times but also eye opening. For someone who doesn't want to sit in ignorance forever I appreciated this opportunity of acceptance.

On to Dex our protagonist. I related so much to Dex and their depression. Having everthing you want in life but still missing something. The feeling of an emptiness you can't fill. The irrational behavior to find purpose in life. And yes I held a light to my hand to see it shine red. Well, you'll understand after you read it.

Mosscap, omg is there anything more wholesome than an enthusiastic robot? It's way of life and talking was very direct. Always taking overthinking human logic out of the equation. Mosscap had a way of making Dex rethink the world and me with them as well. Every conversation, every word, seemed profound. The story made me want to cry and it wasn't even sad. Sometimes I just simply sighed in contentment.

On to the world building. Such a peaceful but alive atmosphere. Of course the main city seemed to be crowded but once Dex took off on an adventure we got to see nature become the domanate and human habitats sectioned off as to not disrupt the ecosystem. Possible my first Solarpunk book and I was very impressed. The different towns on the moon Panga played out in my mind as Dex peddled past. I only hope someone is out there making fan art at this very minute.

Omg did I forget to mention Dex is a tea monk......... I cannot tell you how much joy this brought me. This story melded in with nature so well I could only look around me today and wish such a place existed. Dex grew herbs, listen to people's troubles, peddled their own solar power caravan, and customized teas for their customers needs. What a relaxing adventure. I'm so ready for book two.
