Huntington comes an angsty, broken love story.I wasn't supposed to be on that roof on Valentine's Day.Neither was Kellan Marchetti, the school's designated freak. We met on the verge of ending our lives.Somehow, the tattered strings of our tragedies tangled and tightened into an unlikely bond.We decided not to take the plunge and agreed to check on each other every Valentine's Day until school ended.Same time. One roof. Two restless souls. We kept our promise for three years. On the fourth, Kellan made a decision, and I was left to deal with the consequences.Just when I thought our story ended, another one began. They say all love stories look the same and taste different.Mine was venomous, disgraceful, and written in scarlet scars. My name is Charlotte Richards, but you can call me Venom.Author's Note: Darling Venom is a complete standalone. Just Kidding"
"This is the most passionate story I have read in a while. And I don’t mean passionate about love alone, but about life, grief, loss, pain, disappointment and fear. This is definitely plot with a little bit of spice. I have so many feelings right now, I LOVE Charlie throughout all of this. She starts out as an innocent little girl and then life does what it does best and tests her to the limit where as hardships tend to do some times she loses the will to continue. However just as suddenly she finds in Kellan on a cold dark roof. He becomes a stronghold in her journey, and just as quickly he’s gone. Kellan is one of the most dark characters I’ve read and he was written to perfection. He was dark and hurting and lost but yet so goal oriented, if that even makes sense, in his pursuit to live and die his way. What I found most profound was the author was able to beautifully capture the validity of his feelings and his journey. This book tackles suicidal acts and thoughts with validity which we as a society don’t. It doesn’t brush it off as a mistake but validates how some people are just so hurt by this world it’s their necessity and it’s respected even when it results in so much pain and anguish by those left behind. Tate, Kellan’s older brother, is grief immortalized in a character, so perfectly. Tate, in Charlie, thinks he has found a second chance at trying to understand why his brother took his own life and ends up with so much more than a simple answer to why. As life goes, nothing is as simple or as straight forward, not for these 3 characters tied together by love, and tragedy. The character development is out of this world in the best way possible for all, ESPECIALLY for Terry. Probably one of the most intense love hate relationships I’ve had with a character in a while. I highly recommend this, it’s much more than a simple spicy enemies to lovers age gap romance."
