At first, Scrooge doesn't heed Marley's warning, but soon he is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Christmas Yet to Come. He is made to face his cruel nature, and to consider whether he should change his ways. "Really what to say about a classic that inspired multiple versions of some of my favorite Christmas movies. And hearing iconic quotes from the source itself made my cheeks warm with merriment. I decided to listen to the audiobook while wadding thru traffic Christmas shopping. Which I found put me in a blissfully festive mood and I'm sure the red velvet mocha helped too.<br/><br/>This whimsical and dark tale has such great detail and a host of cheeky characters. The words made me feel the snap of cold and see the swirling mist. Definitely worth the read even if you have seen 10 different forms of it. Hands down the top Christmas/wintery book I have read this year. It has practically everything it should. Magic, hope, redemption, a chilled winter air and even a turkey twice the size of tiny Tim.<br/><br/>I can see why this as been remastered on the big screen again and again truly a Christmas masterpiece. I always feel like dancing foolishly with Mr. Scrooge on Christmas morning and hope I keep the spirit of the holiday good in my own way."

"I have read Dickens before and found him rather tedious, but as I did do a play version Christmas Carol every year in college and grad school, and then twice since then, I figured this wouldn't be so bad since I knew the story. Actually, I enjoyed it. While the story was the same as the plays, there was a little more in the narration that I found quaint that can not be found in a play version."
