"It's so hard to review books written in the 19th century, since their style of writing is so different from our modern way of writing. Certainly, anyone who is expecting action akin to the live action movie will be disappointed, as most of the book is a travelogue. It's not bad by any means....it's just perhaps not what a reader may assume it to be."

It is a bit long and tedious though, particularly when Verne goes into overly lengthy detailed descriptions of different flora and fauna observed. I guess that’s what he was going for though considering the protagonist is a naturalist. "
