"Heck yeah! This would have made a perfect holiday read, but I couldn't help myself once I got my hands on it. Read this if you're on Christmas holiday and looking for just a cozy, light mystery. There are mild/ambiguous magical elements to it which you might be able to say allow for some plot conveniences, but I've migrated from Gier's other translated YA books--I'm really not too concerned with realism. The suspects were very predictable (except for 1--the twist villain was a person I didn't expect, although it was clear that *something* still had to go wrong at that point), but there was still enough going on to keep me listening fairly intently the whole way through.

Side note--In the beginning especially, the audiobook was mildly annoying. Starting off the book with a little boy with a swiss accent and a lisp acting like a brat maybe didn't work in favour of the audiobook because that was grating, man. The MC's german accent was cute when she was in shock and all sleepy though. If this sounds like it might bother you, I might suggest reading a text copy instead. I'm kind of glad I read the audiobook after all, though. Every character pretty much had an accent--we had German, Swiss, French, Russian, South Carolinan, Bulgarian, possibly Czech. Oh, and British too, I guess. I wouldn't have read it with all the over-the-top accents in my head is all."
