When Sam s fourteen, he enters the Dark Woods and returns with Gary, the hornless gay unicorn, and a half-giant named Tiggy, earning the moniker Sam of Wilds. At fifteen, Sam learns what love truly is when a new knight arrives at the castle Knight Ryan Foxheart, the dreamiest dream to have ever been dreamed. Naturally, it all goes to hell when Ryan dates the reprehensible Prince Justin, Sam can't control his magic, a sexually aggressive dragon kidnaps the prince, and the King sends them on an epic quest to save Ryan's boyfriend, all while Sam falls more in love with someone he can never have. "um it was ok. i was definitely expecting better from it and it was kind of disappointing. i love the humor in it though, tj klune is very good in that way, and the magic, while sometimes confusing, was pretty cool. although sam was a really immature 20 y/o, i literally kept thinking he was a middle school boy until his age was mentioned again. ⚠️SPOILER⚠️ i really wish it had ended differently. i don’t think it was best to have ryan and sam end up together. like, sam was so mad at ryan throughout most of the book but then it had a happy ever after and they beat the dark wizards and justin and sam were buddy buddy? like there could’ve been much better ways to end it. ⚠️SPOILER OVER⚠️ anyways, it was ok. probably going to forget most of it. i liked the quest part of it though, everything went downhill and confusing when they were coming back from the quest. i would give it a ⭐️ 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️ finished 1/27/22"
"This book is pretty funny though I wasn't a fan of some of the jokes (r*pe jokes are never funny to me personally) and had to skip past the sex scenes due to secondhand embarrassment because I was listening to the audiobook (which btw is really well done). Also Ryan was a bit underdeveloped IMO. Other than those things I enjoyed my time with this book because I really like our main character and his loving support system."

"<strong>It's cute, very jokey</strong><br/><br/>Ok, i like tj klune. I really liked"bear, otter and the kid", because i was really invested in bear and otters relationship. But klune has a tendency to, how do i explain this, run a joke into the ground. He's funny, don't get me wrong. But instead of working the joke for 3 beats he always aims for 7. He keeps it up until it's no longer funny and it's become annoying and unrealistic . I've only read 4 of his books but he really pushes the limit on how long something can be fresh and funny in this book the most <br/><br/>Also, there is really only one sex scene in the book, at the very end. Yes it is written pretty hot, but at that point i really didn't think of Sam as a sexual man, it was more like reading about a care bear or a cabbage patch kid *******. It felt akward."
"If your a fan of the author you'll know that he writes super traumatic characters, surprisingly there's only low level trauma. Plus some of it is a little harder to relate to so like yes its traumatic but its not a gut punch. Like in the beginning you find out that someone stole the horn and that is why Gary is a hornless unicorn. It was traumatic but pretty unrelatable on a literal level."
"Let me tell you this is the best book ever, we a old wizard, a gay wizard(though Gary would say apprentice), a horn less gay unicorn, a precious half giant, a knight with a magic kink, a bitter prince ( don't give him hate you'll love him in the end), a kinky mother raking dragon, and a bard of dicks and candle sticks, and sarcasm so much sarcasm and sass. Everyone want to have sex with the gay wizard( apprentice). Read how he deals with his greatest enemy 15 year old lady Tina DeSilva the bitch."
