"A gorgeous coffee table read. Delicious writing I could read over and over. My intention was to spend each morning reading bits of it but I ended up reading it in one sit. "

"3.5

The color blue has countless subtle variations, and Bluets captures all of its nuances through beautiful ruminations.

Nelson's thoughts are fragmented at times, and the transition between them can be a bit jarring, leaving little time for the reader to form coherent connections between them. However, that's okay, as Bluets is obviously more poetry than prose. Bluets' blue-hued cogitations may be better consumed in small doses, lest its reading become reminiscent of perusing an exhaustive catalogue of the color.

Despite any shortcomings of Bluets' continuity, the reader is sure to find valuable sapphire gems of insight among its pages. And so, stepping back to view her canvas as whole, Nelson has painted colorful visions with varying brushstrokes that yield an intricate tapestry of blues that is as deep as it is wide."
"This book is fantastic, raw and gritty, unabashedly frank, and moving. Maggie Nelson's writing is beautiful and lyrical. The way she uses language and her imagery punch me in the face lol. It really was such a pleasure to have my breath taken away again and again by some insight she had gained and found. And then she further found a way to use words to describe the indescribable. This is a work I will come back to again and again. And I look forward to reading more of her work. 5⭐s"
