"Okay because why not read a creepy book about dolls? It's a two part book, really enjoyed the
more relaxed feel. It is based around a family that is effected by dolls in one way or another, does
also include magic and demon/ possession. It's an extremely quick read even with two different
books in one. I would recommend if you like a simple but creepy book, it's not completely
predictable but has some parts of like "duh""
" the first book is filled with mystery and suspense and I love how the second book has the pov of the little sister!"

"Our story follows Josie and her little sister Anna as they try to navigate life after they moved to their grandmother's house. If it wasn't hard enough to be the new kids in a new school, they even have to follow their grandma's very strange rules:

„One, never leave your windows open after dark, even if it’s hot. Two, no dolls in the house. And three, never, ever go by the house in the woods. That’s where Beryl lives.”

To add for the strangeness of the place, ever since they moved in they hear noises and laughter from outside as well as having terrifying nightmares about running in the dark woods and stumbling on a very strange house

Of course these things aren't real, are they? There are no such things as witches, right? And of course these rules... These strange rules are just their grandma's made up things because she can't separate reality from imaginations, right?

Well... You have to read the book to find out.

Writing:

The writing style was really simple and nice, and the book is kinda fast paced, so you can finish it quickly. I loved how spooky the atmosphere was, and although it is a middle-grade book it was quite creepy and really enjoyable. It felt a little rushed at some places (for example the end) but it was still a great book.

Characters:

The characters are easy to sympathise with, and it was nice to see the relationship between the sisters. I liked that we got to know the characters slowly as they revealed more about themselves. I also liked the backstory of Beryl and the grandma, but I wish there would be more information about their past.

Overall Thoughts:

This is the perfect book if you are looking for something short, but creepy and if you liked Caroline I think you will like this too. It's also extra creepy if you hate dolls and mannequins from the bottom of your heart like I do."
