Rules are different outside the Society. Chasing down an uncertain future, Cassia makes her way to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped into the majestic, but treacherous, canyons. On this wild frontier are glimmers of a different life and the enthralling promise of rebellion. But even as Cassia sacrifices everything to reunite with Ky, ingenious surprises from Xander may change the game once again. Narrated from both Cassia's and Ky's points of view, this hotly anticipated sequel to Matched will take them both to the edge of Society, where nothing is as expected and crosses and double-crosses make their path more twisted than ever . . .The sensational second book in the series and follow-up to acclaimed international bestseller, Matched.

"Yawn. Cheesy. I wasn't gonna read it but my husband got it for me for our anniversary so I felt bad. I just don't like Ky that much. Or Cassia. It's hard when you don't relate to the main characters. Xander is my favorite and I find myself rooting for him. Yawn, again.

UPDATE: I changed my rating from a 3 to a 2, because honestly I was being too generous with a 3."
"It definitely wasn't as good as Matched but it was still really great. This book was told from the perspective of Ky and Cassia. I liked that you got to hear what was going through each character's head. With Ky's character, it gave you a unique look into his reactions and what he truly fears. Ky is a hard character to read, you are never sure how he might react to certain situations. We also found out some very vital information about Xander and Ky and the relationship that they had. They didn't seem close but they had more interactions with each other then originally hinted at. The ending is good but it definitely leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for the next one, to find out what happens next!!"

"This series is the only one I’ve read by that author so I can’t really have a favorite."

"Well... I can't say that Matched is my favorite dystopian book like some. I rather preferred Divergent by Veronica Roth. But Matched was still a compelling story and you want to see what happened and solve the riddles waiting at the end. That being said Crossed seemed incredibly drawn out to me. I think more meat could have been placed into the beginning of the book and the endless details of the Carving could have been shortened. The triangle has had a fair and believable reason for existing and I can see where her choices would be difficult. But she seems to get fickle in her reasoning toward the end of this book.
I will continue on and read Reached and I hope that it does not disappoint."
"Not as good as the first one, and the ending SUCKED. I kept turning pages past the acknowledgements to get to the rest of the book! I decided to take a chance because I did like the characters from Matched and wanted to see how it all turned out. Now it looks like I've stayed up way too late (again), but this time with no good reason. Boo"
