Christina Henry
A woman trapped on a mountain attempts to survive more than one kind of monster, in a dread-inducing horror novel from the national bestselling author Christina Henry. Mattie can't remember a time before she and William lived alone on a mountain together. She must never make him upset. But when Mattie discovers the mutilated body of a fox in the woods, she realizes that they’re not alone after all. There’s something in the woods that wasn’t there before, something that makes strange cries in the night, something with sharp teeth and claws. When three strangers appear on the mountaintop looking for the creature in the woods, Mattie knows their presence will anger William. Terrible things happen when William is angry.

"this was a WILD ride. i couldn’t stop listening and finished this in a few days. the story takes places in a mountainous region during winter, with nothing around but a cabin. the couple that lives there are isolated from the world around them. there is a heavy trigger warning on domestic violence and mental abuse. the ending was partially satisfying but it did leave me wondering. it was sooo worth the listen/read."
"5 ⭐️ read. LOVED IT "

"I absolutely loved the first half of this, but I loathed (and almost DNF’ed) the second half. Also, the banter between CP and Jen was ridiculous and obnoxiously silly, considering the situation was truly life or death. This was my first time reading this author, and I’ll definitely still give them another try, because even though this story really dropped the ball with the ending, it still had such an incredible, tension filled beginning. 2.5"
