"A lush and bewitching gothic romance, where the inner lives of the characters are just as intricately crafted as their sumptuously magical world. The man infuriates her. He's coarse, arrogant, annoyingly handsome. With every rising dawn, the Middlemist weakens further. Anointed magicians are disappearing. A fiery Olden creature is stalking Farrin. Strange visions haunt the High Queen Yvaine. "Love this way better than the first book! Farron’s whole personality is explained. EVERY. LITTLE. DETAIL! Yes, the books is very detailed but I don’t mind it. I’m able to picture in my mind much better what is happening versus other books where only generic details are given to hurry along the scene. The romance was great, but VERY frustrating because she had so much pent up anger, distrust and resentment in her heart. I honestly felt sorry for the MMC the whole time! Lol

Last chance.
The queen and killgrave were the 2 comets created after the gods “died” and separated the old country and Eden. They were also lovers at some point in the past. The queen had started getting sick because her god gifted powers and memories of who she really was were returning. Killgrave was using his powers to take ppl were randomly & creat sinkholes where monsters were coming out. Faron, Gemma, their childhood friend Garreth, Talon, the Bask siblings (Ryder and his sister) all started investigating why. Along the way, Mara, the middle sister joins them. They find their mom who is actually a god who had emerged after 3 catastrophic heartbreaks: the fire, Mara was taken by the order, and them binding Gemma’s powers. She said it was not safe for her to be near them knowing killgrave would target her family. She tells them they are demigods and asked for them to stay and be trained, all three said no. She chose to stay in hiding versus helping which enraged Faron more. Ryder disappears. Theyr invited to Moonhaven in the old country where he was taken. All the sisters have to fight, the queen shows up in her firebird form to help destroy the egg thing, killgrave tries to stop her and she turns to ash before he can get to her. Faron is in shock and mourning for the queen, she thinks she’s still alive. From what it sounds like, the queen left her the throne. “She left me everything she had.” A whole bunch of other stuff happened in between but there’s too much to type. "
