SOME TOWNS ARE MORE HAUNTED THAN OTHERS...An irresistible and bittersweet coming-of-age story in the vein of Stranger Things and Stand by Me about a group of misfit kids who spend an unforgettable summer investigating local ghost stories and urban legends"A celebration of the secret lives of children, both their wonders and their horrors . . . Immensely enjoyable, piercingly clever, and satisfyingly soulful." -Jason Heller, NPRGrowing up in 1980s Niagara Falls - a seedy but magical, slightly haunted place - Jake Baker spends most of his time with his uncle Calvin, a kind but eccentric enthusiast of occult artifacts and conspiracy theories. The summer Jake turns twelve, he befriends a pair of siblings new to town, and so Calvin decides to initiate them all into the "Saturday Night Ghost Club." But as the summer goes on, what begins as a seemingly light-hearted project may ultimately uncover more than any of its members had imagined. With the alternating warmth and sadness of the best coming-of-age stories, The Saturday Night Ghost Club is a note-perfect novel that poignantly examines the haunting mutability of memory and storytelling, as well as the experiences that form the people we become, and establishes Craig Davidson as a remarkable literary talent.

"after finally rekindling my love for reading with the last novel i read, i made the bold decision to read the saturday night ghost club without having any prior knowledge about it. no reviews. no lists. not even the back cover. and boy am i glad i did.
this was a wonderfully poetic book that flowed effortlessly through the narrative while delivering short quick punches to my brain and heart. it may not be a big achievement for some, but i tore through this book in five days and for someone who has struggled with reading ADHD in the past, i am proud of the accomplishment.
it’s past midnight now and i have work in the morning so i will let myself drift off to sleep while thinking about ghost and ghouls and all the other things this book reminded me of. good night."
"Such a delightful and quick read! The perfect mix of urban legend storytelling, an unconvential family member with deep trauma and a family willing to protect them at all costs. I enjoyed the light-hearted romance and two young boys finding their best friend. I personally think it should be a classified as a teen fiction."
"Craig Davidson so cleverly articulates an edge between naïveté and the dark currents of fear and danger that only the adolescents in this novel could walk. It’s vivid, entertaining, captivating, immersive, and real. The late-summer, apathetic, oddly charming 1980s Niagara Falls town setting sets a perfect stage for me to indulge in this crew of main characters’ shenanigans. As if I were pedaling behind them on my own bike in a scalded-Beast-evading escapade, I felt like I was there with them."
"Best book I've read in years! "
