All Dr. Sloan Copeland needed was someone to watch her kids. What she found was the man of her dreams... After a nasty divorce and a thousand mile move, Dr. Sloan Copeland and her twin daughters are finally getting the hang of their new life in Los Angeles. When their live-in nanny bails with no warning, Sloan is left scrambling to find a competent caretaker to wrangle her smart, sensitive girls. Nothing less will do. Enter Rafe Whitcomb. He's all of those things, not to mention good-natured and one heck of a whiz in the kitchen. He's also tall, and handsome, and bearded, and ripped, and tatted, wrist to neck. It doesn't take long for the Copelands to invite Rafe into their home. Just as quickly, both Sloan and Rafe find themselves succumbing to a heady mutual attraction, neither of them wants to deny. With every minute they spend under the same roof, this working mom can't help but wonder if Rafe can handle all her needs... **This stand-alone romance is fluffy. So fluffy. It's fluff. Low. Angst. Fluff. featuring a large tatted, motorcycle riding ginger man, who bakes a mean bacon quiche and knows exactly how to wrangle clever six year olds while making their mom feel loved, loved, loved.** While RAFE is a stand-alone novel here's a suggested reading order to get you to this point SATED (Fit #3) (Meegan) SO SWEET (Daniella and Duke origin story) HAVEN (Meegan) WRAPPED (Meegan, Shae, Sarah) RAFE

"<strong>where to start </strong><br/><br/>I read this book because I had already read the first book and wanted to explore the lives of the other men in this team. It also checks the box of one of my favorite tropes-military/LEO-but I struggled to really enjoy it.<br/><br/>The author skates along the world of human trafficking in this book. She discusses it enough to make the story, but not is a gratuitous way.<br/><br/>This is the second book in this Federal Protection Agency series and my issues with Rafe are the same as when I read Mason. While I am all for suspending reality and enjoying a book it is hard to overlook factual inaccuracy that are a result of lazy research. I have no issue with the fictitious federal agency…because it is exact that, but why couldn’t the author extend due diligence when deciding to write about real life places and professions? For example she refers to Junior Naval Officers as Privates…a simple google search would tell you they are Ensigns. Then her constant referral to Gaithersburg, MD as a podunk town when it is a large bedroom community of Washington, DC. These may be little things, but really…Google!!!<br/><br/>Other things I did not like…there was a lot of repetition regarding the time frame of the story…there were eighteen and nineteen months appear 35 and 11 times respectively. <br/><br/>Lastly, I am not sure why but I get the impression the author is setting up a heteronormative dynamic between the main character…it is probably a trope, so I will let that go.<br/><br/>But it was far from all bad. The story line is very creative and overall it is well written. I enjoy the characters and the interaction between the men in the book."
"3.25<br/><br/>this book was.. good to okay.<br/>i liked the characters a lot and i do think they were well formed, i liked the relationship and the kids and the background plot<br/><br/>i think the biggest issue for me was the pacing and sometimes the writing :/<br/><br/>due to the pacing of the relationship i actually think this book would have been better had it been shorter, which is something i rarely say. usually you see me complaining about books not being long enough. <br/>the relationship started (or was heavily insinuated) about 60 pages into the book and the timeline felt a bit unclear, resulting in the feeling of it going very slow and very fast simultaneously.<br/>there wasnt any real build up so while i do think they were good together i didnt FEEL the chemistry <br/><br/>the other issue to me was the writing. it didnt stand out to me much positively or negatively but the main issue i had was how sometimes it seemed to switch povs mid paragraph with nothing to clue us in on whats happening, which for me frequently led in confusion and the need to go back and re-read pages<br/><br/>all this being said, i do still wanna read her best friends book!! like i said, i really did like the characters themselves. i just think if the writing and pacing had been a bit better it would have been able to shine a lot more."
"I love the fact that I finally found a romance that showcased a healthy relationship full of top notch communication, but the terribly rushed ending felt like a few pages of the book were missing. I also would’ve liked to see a little more build up and tension. The couple got together very quickly. All in all, this story is very sweet and steamy with no unnecessary drama."
