Now a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestseller! When Aviva Davis and Holly Martin meet at the holiday pageant tryouts for their local senior’s center, they think they must be seeing double. While they both knew they were adopted, they had no idea they had a biological sibling, let alone an identical twin! The similarities are only skin deep, though, because while Aviva has a big personality and even bigger Broadway plans, Holly is more the quiet dreamer type who longs to become a famous author like her grandfather. One thing the girls do have in common is their curiosity about how the other celebrates the holidays. What better way to discover the magic of the holidays than to experience them firsthand? The girls secretly trade lives, planning to stage a dramatic reveal to their families. Two virtual strangers swapping homes, holidays, and age-old traditions–what could possibly go wrong? Find out in this sweet as a sugarplum and satisfying as a latke middle grade novel by Marissa Meyer, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles, and Joanne Levy, award-winning author of Sorry for Your Loss and several other books for tweens.

"The holiday-themed prince and the pauper retelling you never knew you wanted!

I flew through this read—it was so cute! It follows two girls (identical twins separated at birth) who meet unexpectedly. Though they were both adopted, they hadn’t known they had a twin!

Both are trying to navigate the holidays in their homes. Holly—whose grandpa is looking at a new living situation due to his health, which affects Holly’s Christmas. And Aviva—whose family is celebrating Hanukkah truly for the first time at her request.

When the two meet, they decide to switch lives for a time, just to see what the holidays are like in each other’s families, all while planning the big reveal of each other to their families at the community center’s upcoming pageant.

This was a fun read that kept me on the edge of my seat! Prince and the pauper retellings never fail to make me nervous—being in someone else’s shoes and having to act like them (by accident or by choice, depending on the story) is anxiety-inducing! But it always makes for an exciting book, and this one did not disappoint.

I loved the side characters, especially Aviva’s little brother. And I love how cozy this book felt. Would absolutely recommend this easy read for December!"
