"A great finale for this series with all the best elements of the previous books turned up to 11. "

"Freya Marske strikes again. This was the perfect conclusion to a perfect series. In all honesty, I was a little surprised when Hawthorne and Ross were announced as the love interests in this book, but their dynamic was SO much better than I ever could’ve imagined. I also really loved the character exploration with Hawthorne - having only seen him from the perspective of others for the past two books, it was so interesting to get to know and understand him more in this book. Also! I love love seeing the two other couples being adorable from the sidelines - not only that, but also making them real and showing their struggles, instead of just focusing on the main relationship of this book. I have recommended this series to so many people and I’m so excited for the final book in this trilogy to be released :)"
"Actual rating is 2.5 stars.

The writing is the only reason why I don’t think this is a 2 star (or less) read. The characters were meh, the plot was fine but slow and the romance did not connect with me. There was a specific moment between Jack and Alan that almost had me lighting the book on fire in rage.

The ending for the book and the series is the real “wtf?” moment. 3 books for this??

Maybe I will grab those matches after all"
