I loved the use of the 1st person narration and really connected with the main character. I think the quality of writing is a level higher than the other DES books I've read--and those are already very well-written! It's a captivating, beautiful story. Reminded me a lot of James Hilton's <i>Random Harvest</i>: similar time period, setting, tone, an ongoing sense of mystery, and the memory/reflection theme. Absolutely, beyond any doubt recommended."
