With Bart back safe and sound from Afghanistan, the Quinns are preparing for a holiday more joyous than any they've experienced in years. And Bart's safe return isn't the family's only good news: Kevin is enjoying married life with Isabelle; Patrick is getting back on his feet after paying his debt to society; Ava thinks she's finally found the love of her life; and Kelly is thrilled to see his family reunited at last. But it just wouldn't be a Quinn family gathering if things went smoothly. A celebration of everything we love--and some of the things we endure--about the holidays, WINTER SOLSTICE is Elin Hilderbrand at her festive best. "Bart arrives home safely from Afghanistan, and begins dating Allegra, a local girl on the island. Ava settles into life in NY with her mom and Potter. Kevin’s business is doing well and he and Isabella welcomed a son. Patrick is out of prison and starting a hedge fund and Jennifer was recruited by her former dealer for a show, Rehab, where she flips houses and opens up about her addiction. Kelly passes with the family together, but not before Potter gets approval and proposes to Ava. "

"Out of the four books I felt this was her best one of the series. Her writing style seems more mature than the prior 3. It has nice flow and more emotional value."

"The continuation of the Quinn family from Winter Inn, this book takes place a years later. (*** contains spoilers to the first and second book).

For one last adventure, the Quinn family comes together in Winter Solstice. Orginally the series was suppose to be a trilogy and I loved the ending of the 3rd book. This made it hard for me to start the 4th book and go on with wanting to read more.

The books starts with Bart suffering from PTSD after what he went through at war and Kelley getting closer to death from his cancer. The rest of the family is going through their own drama, Jennifer not being. ompletely happy with her life, Ava not loving how her boyfriend parents his son.

All the "usual" family drama felt petty compared to Bart and Kelley's suffering. I did enjoy getting to know Bart in this book, as he is back home and you can read from his perspective. He is doing his best to figure out what is next for him in life while dealing with jumping back into civilization. The book has a sense of finality from the start, but is easy to read.

#reading2022 #winterreading2022 #booklover #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #bookworm #bookwormlife #Winterstreetseries #elinhilderbrand #wintersolstice #winterreading"
