"Carter Beckett is the NHL's resident bad boy, top player both on the ice and in the bedroom, and quite possibly the sexiest man to ever grace my field of vision. But worst of all? He knows it. He's arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn't seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He's had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I'm up next. His only problem? I have no intention of falling for his shi----um, charm. I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it's far less complicated than Carter Beckett. Sure, he may be pretty, but he's also a walking, talking reminder for you to wrap it before you tap it. But then I start letting my guard down, and he starts showing me pieces of himself I had no intention of seeing. The bricks surrounding me may be tumbling down one by one, but I’m not sold yet, which means for the first time in his life, Carter's the one begging. For my time, my trust, for a single chance. For me to just...consider him."--

"Dual POV and on Kindle Unlimited. I loved this book. The MMC is a total golden retriever/teddy bear which I love. There were some sections of the book that seemed long but I was enjoying Carter and Olivia’s relationship so much I didn't care. If you liked Icebreaker by Hannah Grace I would recommend this one! "
"I'd like to give this book a 5 star. It was pretty great. But. Can you have too many I love yous in a book? Seriously. I sort of tuned out after awhile and found myself skimming the prose. Beautiful prose, don't get me wrong, just so so much of it. I get it - he loves her more every day. Which is lovely to hear, the first two or three times. After that the paragraphs of why he loves her are just excessive."
"DNF at 35%. I really liked the first bit, but wow this turned so corny. Now I know what everybody meant when they said Carter was too much. At first I thought he was a cute golden retriever goofball, but then it turned immature and gave me the ick. The author also kept having the characters say the same things and it just got to be repetitive and corny. I can’t believe this is almost 600 pages long. I’m not opposed to trying the other books in the series. Maybe it’s just a Carter thing."
"Saw this book all over booktok, everyone said it was so good, but I wouldn't reccomend this book to anyone. This was a book I truly wanted to DNF. 500 pages and it took me 3 days to read because it was so difficult to get through the writing. The book os in 1st POV, which I already hate. And the narrative gave very much screenplay. The writing was just too much I felt as if I was losing braincells while reading this book. Dual POV but written in such a bad way. I understand people must have liked the spice. But that made me cringe, nothing was written well. ⭐️"
"<strong>Terrible </strong><br/><br/>This author has no interest in romance. She's only interested in writing about sex. Carter and Olivia spend 85% of this book either having it, talking about it or thinking about it. The rest of the book is a combination of over the top love bombing, nervous giggles and Carter being the most ridiculous character ever written. I'll never understand the fascination "romance" authors have with arrogant men who treat women like literal garbage until the FMC comes into their life. The running joke in this book is that Carter can't remember any of their names. What a great guy! If you're looking for non stop steam and a FMC who cries non stop and never stands up for herself because the MMC is just too adorable to stay mad then you're going to love this. If you're over the age of 15 you're gonna roll your eyes endlessly at the juvenile dialogue and wish you'd never opened this book."
